The Telecommunications Laboratory (LT) is a research entity affiliated with the University of 8 May 1945 Guelma. It obtained accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS) through ministerial decree number 146/2011 dated March 16, 2011, which pertains to the establishment of research laboratories within certain higher education institutions.
In accordance with decision number 106 issued by the University of Guelma on July 18, 2023, the Telecommunications Laboratory was detached from the Faculty of Science and Technology and merged with the Institute of Telecommunications, established in accordance with executive decree number 22/390 dated November 21, 2022.
The Telecommunications Laboratory (LT) is composed of four (04) research teams, comprising over 30 researchers. Its primary mission is to promote research and the development of applications in the field of telecommunications. It is also committed to nurturing young
researchers, showcasing the work accomplished within its research teams, facilitating the dissemination of scientific knowledge to researchers from various backgrounds, contributing to the advancement of high-quality scientific research, and promoting the transfer of technologies to the industry. All of this is carried out with a focus on respecting national socio-economic directives and needs while also considering universal incentives and concerns.
The laboratory's teams conduct research in various domains, including wireless communications, telecommunications services and networks, remote sensing, high-speed local networks, optical telecommunications, antennas and microwave devices, broadband and radar applications, as well as electronic systems and renewable energies.
In pursuit of exploring new research avenues, the laboratory teams are dedicated to the study, modeling, design, and implementation of models and devices aimed at enhancing the performance of architectures used in telecommunications systems. As part of our scientific activities, the laboratory currently has four (04) research projects of the PRFU type registered.
The diversity of research conducted by our researchers is largely the result of fruitful collaborations with numerous foreign researchers affiliated with world-renowned laboratories.
The outcomes of these research efforts are dedicated to serving our country while aiming to compete on the international stage by addressing contemporary challenges.
Furthermore, members of the laboratory are actively committed to education and research by providing instruction and supervising Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, as well as third- cycle doctoral training.
